For my self-branding project, I decided to pay homage to my Arab roots. I chose to design my name in Kufic calligraphy, the earliest extant Islamic style of the handwritten alphabet that was used by early Muslims to record the Qurān. To give it a modern twist, I chose squared Kufic to make it more versatile and to be able to turn it into a pattern.
